The chips follow a similar profile to honey butter on American dishes such as cornbread and fried chicken, mixing sweet with savory. In South Korea, imitators are featuring the flavor in everything from almonds to dried squid, while retailers are bundling the chips with less popular products to increase sales. Some have even instituted rationing to keep the chips on the shelves.
